Giving and Development: Qikou Rural Collection Conference

During the summer holiday, three RCEF curriculum developers and I went to Shanxi Qikou to go to a conference upon rural reading education put on by Beijing Brooks NGO and also the organization “ Awaiting Spring". Beijing Brooks NGO acquired set up local your local library in Qikou for several rural primary colleges. The purpose of the conference was to share experiences around the effective usage of libraries for arranging reading activities and enhancing students' interest as well as abilities in reading through.

Starting the New Session

That semester we shall start working together with a new partner school, Dong Wu Xing Primary Education . They operate about 130 scholars who live in the nearby village. Around this school there is one period a day for analyzing. We will take this time to show students some effective analyzing methods and tactics. Within out-of-class time, you will also give scholars more opportunities to complete meaningful reading writing along with exercise.

Adoring Revolutionary History: Our own Class in Dong Wu Xing Town

Dong Wu Xing Primary School is one of our partner schools. It is about 10 kilometers from Yongji City and has about 130 students. They come from three surrounding villages. The school buildings are the most dilapidated we have seen in Yongji. There is absolutely no playing area, no fencing. Originally it had been slated for drawing a line under but due to the principal as well as village head' s efforts— as well as its location within a village that has been critical during the anti-Japanese war— it has been capable to remain open.
